Problem

"An error occurred during an asynchronous communication: <Location Code/Message>"

Solution

This is not an exhaustive list of causes, but some common or reoccurring sources of these particular errors.


  • Reinstall A3200 and its real-time operating system, INtime:

    1. Uninstall A3200
    2. Uninstall INtime (separate program from A3200)
    3. Restart the PC
    4. Reinstall A3200 (INtime is installed automatically)
    5. Restart the PC
  • Pass the FireWire/HyperWIre card to INtime control.
    1. Open INtime Configuration
    2. Double click on INtime Device Manager.
    3. Right click on the FireWire card and select Pass to INtime using Polling

    4. For HyperWire cards, Pass to INtime using MSI

    5. Navigate to File > Save Configuration. Exit INtime Device Manager and restart the PC.
  • The FireWire/HyperWire card could be defective. Replace the FireWire/HyperWire card.
  • Verify that your FireWire or HyperWire cables are working correctly. Test each cable separately. If necessary, replace the FireWire or HyperWire cable.
  • Optimize the PC. This can be done by following the Optimizing A3200 Performance guide on our website. This includes a list of Windows and BIOS settings that are known to negatively affect real time performance which can cause communication issues.
  • The drive/controller hardware in the system could be defective. Replace the drive/controller.
