Not all Npaqs are capable of being upgraded, only those manufactured after 2007 may be upgradeable, as determined below. When upgrading to Windows 10, A3200 must be upgraded to at least version 5.03. 

Step-by-step guide

  1. Download and run our compatibility testing program; this will determine whether your Npaq can be run with versions of A3200 above 4.xx.
    1. For A3200 versions 2.22 to 3.04, download NpaqCompatibilityCheck.pgm
    2. For A3200 versions 4.00 to 4.04, download NpaqCompatibilityCheck4.pgm
    3. For A3200 versions 4.05 and higher, download NpaqCompatibilityCheck405.pgm 

  2. If the program states "Npaq found at axis (axis index) is compatible with 4.xx.", then the Npaq unit is capable of upgrading to the latest version of A3200. If the program states "...requires an upgrade for 4.xx support" or "...is NOT compatible with 4.xx", then the Npaq is not capable of upgrading.

  3. If the Npaq CompatibilityCheck program fails, you'll have to locate the control board revision inside the Npaq:

    1. Remove the cover of the Npaq. There should be nine screws to remove the top cover, as shown below.



    2. Locate the control board. The control board is on the left side while facing the front of the unit, and has the FireWire connectors as well as red and white Communication Channel switches. 



    3. Locate the revision, which is typically located on a label on the bottom left or bottom right of the control board. The revision will either be Rev. -,  Rev. A, or Rev. B.
      Note: If your Npaq unit has the MXR option, the MXR board will be installed on top of the control board. This may make locating the label a bit more difficult.





    4. Determine whether the Npaq is upgradable based on its control board revision. If you are unsure when the unit was manufactured, create a Technical Support Ticket at the link below and include the serial number on the rear of the unit.
