I am currently looking for a way to control our axis systems via Linux. As a controller platform, I first considered the A3200 or Ensemble.

Step-by-step guide

The A3200, Ensemble and Soloist, unfortunately, do not support Linux.

However, you can send commands to the controller via "ASCII Command Interface" from a Linux PC. You can find the command overview and the controller settings for the "ASCII Interface" in the help file under "ASCII Command Interface".
With the "ASCII Command Interface", you can send commands to the controller from another device via RS-232 or Ethernet. Your controllers require an Ethernet or RS-232 interface for this purpose. The parameter file must also be adapted for the ASCII Command Interface so that it is set to receive or send.

The A3200 is designed and compatible with Windows only. Other operating systems are not supported.

We are currently working on new software called "Automation1" with which we also support Linux.
