The customer would like to read out and control the IOs of a Beckhoff controller via Aerotech A3200. 
Using an example CX5120 with EtherCAT Salve B110, it is explained here how it must be set up and what is feasible.

Step-by-step guide

Main steps:


1. provide EtherCAT options from Aerotech + Hilscher card
1.1 If necessary, purchase a Hilscher licence for the drivers of the card. 
2. read in TWINCAT the Beckhoff controller and configure it.
2. install Syscomnet and generate an XML file for the IOs see A3200-Help "Generating and Configuring an EtherCAT Network Information File" with the subcategory "Using SYCON.net").
3. Integrate and define IOs in the parameter's Fieldbus.


Warning: Hilscher service technician must be requested to write a specific XML file. 
Warning: 2 real-time applications e.g. INtime and TwinCat on one PC are not compatible. It leads to an error with one of the two applications.
